- Surfers are being offered the chance to try on sunglasses and then buy them using a new on-line optical retail site for high street optician chain Dollond & Aitchinson.
The site allows potential customers to choose a pair of sunglasses and then "try them on" by using a link to D&A's on-line Personal Eyes service. This uses a Java and hybrid graphic system which allows customers to select frames to suit their face shape by dragging them over a previously scanned self-image.
Customers can then fill in the order for their favourite glasses on screen and pay on-line. The order is emailed directly to the distribution centre with delivery in the post within a few days.
The new site was designed and built by digital agency Clarity Communications. Clarity took over the D&A business when the opticians former web company, Index Finger, went under.
