A retail marketing veteran, Holdway was brand marketing director at House of Fraser for three years before joining BHS in February. Before this, he held commercial and marketing roles at Wickes, Littlewoods and Woolwooths, Mothercare and WH Smith.

During his short stint at BHS, Holdway gained profile for his #SaveBHS campaign, which saw the union flag projected onto London landmarks to draw attention to the plight of the department store and the 11,000 staff that stood to lose their jobs.

Holdway said: "Domino’s has had a phenomenal growth trajectory over the last few years driven by its innovative omni-channel approach to marketing.

"I look forward to bringing even greater standout marketing and creative ideas to Domino’s, as we continue to lead the way in delivering freshly baked, great tasting pizza, wherever and whenever our customers want it."

Predecessor Simon Wallis, who became chief operating officer in July, added: "Tony brings a wealth of experience to the team, and will be using this experience to lead the charge in improving our understanding of our ever evolving customers needs and how best to connect them with our brand across all channels."
