Dotmusic relaunches with consumer focus

- Dotmusic, the Website of music trade weekly Music Week, is to relaunch as a consumer site in competition with NME.com and MTVEurope.com.

The site will launch on December 10 with a daily news service, an interactive countdown of the official UK singles chart every Sunday, the introduction of 50 artist micro-sites and an advertising system that targets campaigns based on users' preferences.

The relaunch of Dotmusic, located at www.dotmusic.co.uk, follows the launch of Music365.co.uk, launched by DNP. Music365 is edited by Brendan Fitzgerald and is also delivering a daily news and email alert service.

Chris Sice, Dotmusic's commercial manager, said: "Since we launched in 1995 we now attract around 150,000 consumers a month and compete with established media owners like Capital and MTV."
