DoubleClick launches local targeted ad service

The service will aim to offer advertisers reach to regional audiences in any global metropolitan area on any of DoubleClick's network of sites.

The more specific targeting intends to increase focus on the individual user, whilst simultaneously reaching cities in various parts of the world.

It will use DoubleClick's DART (Dynamic Advertising Reporting and Targeting) software to specifically target local users on high-trafficked, well-branded sites like AltaVista and FT Your Money.

DoubleClick Local will be supported by a multi-media campaign.

Eric Stein, managing director of DoubleClick UK, commented: "Our product enables advertisers to reach their audiences by placing their messages in front of the local users across our network of premium sites. This provides them both the reach and the flexibility to target by city, state or region with one media buy."
