The company, the investment banking arm of the German Dresdner Bank AG, currently handles its media in-house but has approached media networks via their UK offices with a request for credentials and a brief to launch a global campaign.
Dresdner has asked for evidence of working within financial services - specifically investment banking, insurance and pensions.
Media activity is likely to focus on key financial markets in Moscow, New York, Tokyo, London and Frankfurt. However, Dresdner has not disclosed its media budget.
The review is being overseen by Robert Bannister, Dresdner's head of procurement, from its head offices in London and Frankfurt. He will draw up a shortlist of agencies on 18 August, with presentations set to take place on 5 September.
