Drum launches content production arm

Drum, the specialist content division of PHD, is expanding into the creation of content for TV, cinema, online and mobile phones.

Drum Screen has been spun out of Drum and claims to be the first UK agency to offer full production capability across a variety of platforms as well as strategic advice.

Enteraction TV's head of commercial development, Simon Wells, has been hired to become the executive producer of Drum Screen. Before joining Enteraction, which produces Thomas Cook TV and London TV, Wells worked at Endemol, where he was the company's first head of advertiser-funded programming.

Wells will work alongside Mark Eaves, currently the head of television at Drum, who takes on the role of managing director of Drum Screen. Eaves was responsible for the Lifeblood and Blood Matters TV series for the National Blood Service and for Good Company on behalf of Investors In People, recently shown on ITV.

Eaves said: "While this feels like a natural step for us, in terms of the market, it's a very significant move."
