Dunlop appoints Bartle Bogle Hegarty to £10m pan-European account

Dunlop Europe has handed Bartle Bogle Hegarty its pan-European advertising account, estimated to be worth £10 million, after a competitive pitch.

The agency has been tasked with developing a branding campaign that will run across markets including the UK, Italy, France and Germany.

The agency beat Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and DDB London in a final shootout overseen by the AAR. VCCP, cdp-travissully and the German agency Jung von Matt were eliminated at an earlier stage.

180 Amsterdam, the incumbent that had held the account for the past four years, was not involved in the contest.

Dunlop Europe's most famous advertising was produced by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO in the early 90s. The agency created the "magician" television commercial, which was written by Tom Carty and art directed by Walter Campbell. It was directed by Tony Kaye.

Dunlop declined to comment on the appointment.
