Editorial: Binge-drinking still the hot topic in adland

So the massive screen and spectacular auditorium of the Royal Festival Hall and the respective wit and diverting attire of the Simons (compere Amstell and Waterfall) was still not enough to staunch the loss of concentration among the D&AD Awards audience last Thursday.

Whole rows emptied out as the venue's bars stopped serving during the show, forcing most to decamp to a local pub, from which there was little chance of a return. A great shame for the organisers' attempt to create a very different event. But what to expect of creatives on a big night out?
