EDITORIAL: Havas pull-out leaves Sorrell to ponder

Havas' decision last week to withdraw from the bidding war for

Tempus left WPP's Sir Martin Sorrell with an interesting situation to

mull over. Havas originally bid 541p per Tempus share, which WPP

trounced with an offer of 555p. Given the market slump of recent weeks,

however, some analysts are estimating that if there had been no bidding

war, Tempus' shares would now be trading at a rather lower figure. About

150p.
