EDITORIAL: Johnson has his work cut out at D&AD

The marriage of the advertising and design disciplines within D&AD has never been entirely harmonious. The measured and less high-profile career progression of most designers contrasts with that of their advertising counterparts for whom awards can be plentiful and fame instant. Good luck to Michael Johnson, D&AD's president-elect, as he attempts to make the organisation less of a turn-off for young designers. He'll need it.
