EDITORIAL: Legislate, educate, but do not ban ads

At last, someone is talking sense in the debate that surrounds obese children. The health secretary, John Reid, clearly understands that banning food advertising that targets children would be little more than going through some politically expedient motions by appearing to address the problem. The solution lies in legislation that will educate parents and children, encourage exercise and make fresh food less expensive than processed food.
