Even Jim Hytner, Channel 5’s marketing director, says Carat, along with

Michaelides & Bednash, has done ’a fantastic job’, and the switch will

undoubtedly provoke allegations of cronyism.



But at least Hytner has been upfront about his intentions rather than

calling a pitch which would have been a fiasco and a waste of everyone’s

time.
