Fallon presented against incumbent Bates Worldwide and Grey Advertising, both out of New York, and DDB Needham, Dallas, to win the account.

The branding campaign would see EDS dramatically up its advertising spend around the world. Last year the Texas based company, which was formerly owned by one-time US presidential candidate, Ross Perot, spent less than £5 million.

In the UK, EDS's customers include the Alliance & Leicester Building Society, British Airways, Civil Aviation Authority and the Department of Social Security.
