Emap On Air has signed a pounds 500,000 combined cinema and radio

sponsorship deal with Warner Village Cinemas.



Moviezone is a film show that will broadcast on Emap’s Big City stations

in Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Preston and Sheffield.



The programme will give listeners up-to-date information about the

latest films, including where and when they are showing. It will also

feature film reviews and cinema ticket giveaways.



Moviezone will be advertised on Warner screens as sponsorship credits,

showing cinema-goers when the programme will air on the radio.



Dave King, sales director at Emap On Air, said: ’ It’s a great way to

pull in local advertisers. You’ve got your ten-year-old who goes to the

cinema, sees an ad for his or her favourite radio station and tunes

in.’



The deal was negotiated by Richard Jacobs, head of sponsorship at Emap

On Air, and Joe Emir, promotions executive at Warner Village

Cinemas.



MediaCom TMB’s head of radio Mike Hope-Milne oversaw the buying.



Separately, Emap On Air has split its sales teams into two groups

consisting of an account and a planning team. The account team will

focus on the trading and negotiations, while the planning team will book

airtime.



The Emap Performance Network includes the Big City radio network, Magic

radio network, Kiss 100, The Box music television and all music

publications, events and websites.
