The new site will offer advice on pregnancy, birth and parenthood. The site will offer features including a panel of online babycare experts, opinions on top brands and a panel of mothers and fathers to test baby equipment in their own homes.

It will also offer personalised weekly email advice tailored to a woman's stage of pregnancy, a baby names library and ideas for family days out.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to see women giving birth live on the web.

The site will also offer a section for fathers-to-be, including a tongue-in-cheek 'Conception Sports Planner' allowing them to plan their baby's arrival around major sporting occasions.

Motherandbaby.co.uk will be edited by Stephanie Neuman, who is a former editor of Mother & Baby magazine.
