It will be a blow to M2M because Estée Lauder was the Omnicom agency's founding client in 2003 and it has also lost two of its biggest spenders, Lidl and Paddy Power, as clients in little over a year.
A spokesman for OMD Group, the parent company of M2M and Manning Gottlieb OMD, declined to offer any explanation for the account switch. It is thought the client wanted to move the account and Omnicom, which has a global relationship with Estée Lauder, recommended Manning Gottlieb OMD.
Chris Good, president of Estée Lauder Companies UK and Ireland, said: "I am looking forward to working with [chief executive] Tim Pearson and the team at Manning Gottlieb OMD and I would like to take the opportunity to thank M2M for all their hard work over the past 13 years."
Estée Lauder's UK media spend was undisclosed but it has previously been reported to be around £7m.
