The appointment will see Jones relocating to the UK to run a global team from Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper in London, as well as running the £11 million UK arm of the business when the account goes live later this month.
Jones joined the Euro RSCG Partnership in Sydney in 1998 as managing director, and was promoted to chief executive the following year after increasing its business by 20 per cent.
The agency handles clients such as Orange, Volvo and Cadbury.
Jones' appointment comes just weeks after a restructure of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper's senior management. The new chief executive, Chris Pinnington, and the joint chairmen, Mark Wnek and Brett Gosper, are now supported by the newly promoted managing director, Adam Leigh.
Euro RSCG shares the Reckitt account with J. Walter Thompson after pitching against Ogilvy & Mather earlier this year, and will work on the company's fabric, homecare and dishwashing brands, including Finish, Calgon, Resolve and Vanish.
JWT took the surface, personal care and health brands including Lysol, Harpic and Lemsip, worth £24 million in UK billings and £250 million globally.
