Eurostar teams up with The Telegraph in Alex cartoon ads

Alex, The Daily Telegraph's cartoon strip lampooning life in the City, is to appear in an advertising campaign for the first time in a deal to promote Eurostar's new high-speed business service.

Eurostar is to use Alex in a series of ten cartoon ads to promote its new fast rail link between London, Paris and Brussels to business travellers.

The deal was brokered by Eurostar's media planning and buying agency, Manning Gottlieb OMD, and The Daily Telegraph's commercial development team.

The cartoonists Peattie and Taylor will produce a series of ten bespoke cartoons that will appear in the business section of The Daily Telegraph from Tuesday to Saturday. The ads will run in addition to the regular Alex cartoon strip.

Jon Gittings, a director at Manning Gottlieb OMD, said: "Alex is the perfect conduit for us to communicate the 'fly Eurostar' message."
