Express Newspapers strengthens new media department

- Express Newspapers has named Virgin Net editor, Robert Leedham, as managing editor of its web sites - MegaStar, SportLive and express.co.uk.

- Express Newspapers has named Virgin Net editor, Robert Leedham, as managing editor of its web sites - MegaStar, SportLive and express.co.uk.

He has a brief to develop two new internet projects, one of which will be a lifestyle site aimed at women. It will be run by Christina Hopkinson, who joins from Associated New Media.

In July, the company's former head of business development, Anne Mollen, was promoted to director of new media.

According to Mollen "As MegaStar heads for 6 million page impressions a month and SportLive continues to develop itself as the leading sports website, we are strengthening our position in the market all the time."
