- Edinburgh based Faulds Advertising has resigned the Daily Record advertising account.

The move comes after it was revealed earlier this week that Mirror Group Newspapers, owners of the Record, had brief four agencies including Faulds to pitch for the £2 million account of Scotland's biggest selling daily newspaper.

The three agencies that will pitch are: Coltas, 1576 and Frame Cunningham Holden Edy.

In a statement Faulds said that the agency resigned the business because it was unable to agree a strategy with the client over the last 12 months.

The Record has a net average daily circulation of 675,000. It outsells both the Scottish versions of the Sun and the Mirror.
