FCBi entices Wright from TBWA to head global development

FCBi, the below-the-line network owned by the Interpublic Group, has poached the TBWA\GGT marketing director, Martin Wright, to be its global business development director.

Wright will join FCBi on 1 July and will co-ordinate the network's pan-European new-business operations. He will be based in the London office and work with FCB's country heads.

The FCBi president, David Poole, to whom Wright will report, said: "Martin is simply the best business development guy there is and has been instrumental in the growth of TBWA\GGT. He joins FCBi at a very exciting time - we have been stepping up our capabilities across Europe."

Wright said: "I've the greatest respect for David Poole and what he has achieved with FCBi. I'm excited about taking FCBi to the next stage of its European development."

FCBi's London office has been created following the acquisition of DP&A, which Poole founded more than a decade ago. It became part of IPG in 2002. The network recently won the integrated brief for Weightwatchers Continental Europe.

Wright joined TBWA\GGT in 1995 as the board director for marketing. During his time there, the agency picked up accounts including Abbey, NatWest and ASB Bank New Zealand.
