Ferguson heads for top Y&R creative role

- Young & Rubicam has appointed Jim Ferguson, from the Dallas office of DDB Needham, a unit of the Omnicom Group, as its new president and chief creative officer at the agency's New York headquarters.

- Young & Rubicam has appointed Jim Ferguson, from the Dallas office of DDB Needham, a unit of the Omnicom Group, as its new president and chief creative officer at the agency's New York headquarters.

He is expected to join the agency in early May and will take on duties currently being handled by worldwide creative director Ted Bell. Bell has handled the New York role alongside his global one since Helayne Spivak left the agency five years ago.

Ferguson was chief creative officer at DDB Needham in Dallas and prior to that he was a senior vice president and creative director at Leo Burnett in Chicago.
