First Choice reviews £5m media account

First Choice has launched a review of its £5 million media planning and buying account as it looks to consolidate offline and online activity into one agency.

Walker Media handles the offline side of the business and First Choice is in talks with the agency to see if it can also handle the online business. However, First Choice is expected to widen its agency search and hold a pitch for the consolidated business.

Manning Gottlieb OMD has worked on online activity for First Choice in the past on a project-by-project basis, but is not expected to work with it again owing to client conflict with its Virgin Holidays and easyJet accounts.

Walker recently handled an online brief for First Choice as part of the company's ongoing long-haul marketing effort.

Tim Williamson, the First Choice marketing director, said it was looking for a "more permanent arrangement". Creative, handled by Beattie McGuinness Bungay, is unaffected by the media review.
