Sheldon has been appointed to the new position of director digital at Starcom unit Starcom Digital.
His appointment completes the senior management line-up at Starcom Digital. Matt Simpson, head of digital, and group account directors Martin Shaw and Richard Hollidge will report into Sheldon.
Sheldon spent more than 10 years at WPP, first as a founder of JWT Digital and then as head of MindShare's digital activity. In 2002 he also took on the additional role of associate director at WPP market research company The Henley Centre. He recently left MindShare to work as an independent consultant.
Reporting into Nigel Foote, Starcom's EMEA managing partner, Sheldon will head a team with 30 staff and £30m in billings.
