- Fox Family has announced it is to launch two new cable channels for kids, one targeting boys and the other girls.

The Boyz Channel and The Girlz Channel, both of which are supported by advertising, will feature daytime programming aimed at 2-to-14-year-olds and evening programming targeting parents. The two will run a mixture of existing Fox programming, original material and gender-specific shows.

The two channels are designed for cable companies' digital roll-out, but will also be available on analogue. The channels will launch next year and will have separate supporting web sites.
