- Freeserve, the UK's leading portal and internet service provider, has parted company with internet advertising sales company DoubleClick as it moves its advertising sales in-house.

Freeserve will bring the complete sales operation in-house from 1st June, but will continue to use DoubleClick's Dart advertising serving software.

Caroline Hughes, Freeserve's advertising sales director, said: "With well over 240 content partnerships now in place, the complexity and continued growth of the Freeserve dictated that we take this step at this time."

Hughes is actively recruiting to strengthen the Freeserve ad sales team and plans to grow from nine people to 40.

As part of the transfer, Freeserve has deployed new customer and site tracking tools that enable it to analyse members' interests and demographics to levels previously unachieved by a UK Internet portal.
