Fusion Radio Sales, the start-up sales house for regional radio,

has unveiled its ad team.

Gerry Boniface, managing director of sales, has recruited eight sales

staff to kick-start the business.

Andrew Moore, formerly sales manager at Stadium Radio, joins as sales

manager reporting to Boniface.

Nick Jordon has been hired as director of local sales and comes to

Fusion from Express Newspapers, where he was an account manager.

Stephen Allen, sponsorship manager at LNR, will join Fusion next week as

sponsorship manager, working across all the divisions.

Brian Lee quits Cable Ad Sales next week to join Fusion as traffic

manager, and Andy Gillham leaves Atlantic 252, where he was an account

manager, to head the research division.

Sales executive Wayne Bency, who is new to media sales, will assist

Moore. Boniface is looking for two senior sales people to work within

the field sales team.

Lucy Page and Nick Metcalfe join Fusion as graduate planners and have

been recruited to work across radio, new media and research.

All the recruits will be in place by the end of next week and will aim

to sell on behalf of local radio station clients as well as ten acquired

local radio stations.

Boniface has invented an unusual system of classifying his sales force,

dividing it into ’tinkers’ and ’tailors’.

He explained: ’The tinkers go out and get the business. They will sell

our wares and bring in short-term money. The tailors will operate as the

strategic thinkers, working with sales and programming to develop

medium- to long-term strategies.’

Fusion Radio Group, founded by the former LNR managing director Nigel

Reeve, launched on 3 April. The group operates three divisions - sales,

acquisitions and internet radio.
