Exploiting the ever-growing demand for electronic games guides,

Future’s Computing and Video Games division is publishing two one-off

titles - Online Gamer and the Gran Turismo 2 Strategy Guide.

Online Gamer is aimed at the increasing population of game enthusiasts

who play online against multiple players in real time.

It went on sale on 15 March with a covermounted CD, a pounds 3.99 cover

price and a 42,000 print run. The title also features a competition

where readers can win a PC.

Most of the revenue will be generated from copy sales, as the 100-page

magazine carries just six-and-a-half pages of ads plus an insert for

Microsoft.

The ads were sold by PC Gamer ad manager Helen Watkins and senior sales

executive Helen Johns.

Future claims the title contains all you need to know to play on the net

and is suitable for all web players. It includes reviews and reveals

where players can find games and how to overcome problems.

Online Gamer is the first in a series of four specials planned for this

year. The others may be repeats of some of last year’s one-offs, which

included Planet Gameboy, Pokemon, Mobile Gamer and What Games

Machine?

Gran Turismo 2 Strategy Guide, an unofficial PlayStation magazine, will

hit the newsstands on 27 March.

The 132-page title provides readers with new strategies and tips for

playing the popular racing game. The magazine, which will carry no ads,

retails for pounds 5 and has a 36,000 print run.

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off Campaign's relaunch than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
