GALLERY 02: Carling - Crab Friday

Despite the relaxing Seychelles location, this proved to be a nail-biting shoot, primarily because the ad's hero, Crab Friday, got lost in transit. He eventually surfaced on the final afternoon of the four-day shoot. Based on the Robinson Crusoe story, the ad shows how teamwork can solve anything. But this is not the beginning of a beautiful friendship, as the hilarious ending reveals. A combination of CGI and a perspex, motorised, animatronic were used to bring the crab to life. Production designer Gavin Bocquet also worked on "Star Wars".

1 Why creative people have lost their way

What better way to kick off Campaign's relaunch than with another think piece on the current failings of our industry, written by an embittered, pretentious creative who misses "the way things used to be"...
