Gallery 28: Best of the US - BC Dairy Foundation

Promoting good ol' wholesome milk to teenagers is no easy task but Palmer Jarvis uses digital trickery to surprise, inform and entertain. Based on a simple idea of how difficult life would be without a body, the ads use 'photogrammetry' to depict a bodiless world. This technique involves building reality out of photographed scenes, and false bottom sets incorporating real actors. To create the 'head and feet' characters, the actors' performances were shot and then digitally placed onto puppeted prosthetic heads using mapping technology.
