Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper has lured Glen Flaherty, European planning
director on the Mars confectionery account at Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO,
back to the agency just nine months after he left.
The board-level appointment sees Flaherty resume charge of the pounds 30
million Abbey National account. Before he left the agency last year,
Flaherty led the development of the Abbey National ’because life’s
complicated enough’ campaign. He will also work on one other account
which has yet to be chosen.
Neil Dawson, planning director of Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, said: ’Glen is
one of the finest players we have in London. We were sad to lose him and
we are very glad to have him back. Advertising is about ideas and
passion. He has both in abundance.’
Flaherty added: ’I’ve had a really interesting year at BBDO and now I am
looking forward to getting back into a real agency. There’s a buzz about
the place that I have missed enormously. It took me about two minutes to
make up my mind to go back.’
Flaherty first joined Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper in 1997. Before that, he
spent seven years at Grey, initially as head of planning at the London
office, then as European planning director for Mars.
