GMG Radio promotes Julian Carter to director of sales

LONDON - Julian Carter has been promoted to director of sales at GMG Radio, the company behind Jazz FM and Real Radio.

Carter, who joined GMG Radio in January from his position as Capital Radio's regional sales director for the North of England and Scotland, will continue to oversee the development of GMG Radio Sales, which sells the group's portfolio of five regional stations and its digital services to agencies outside London.

He will also manage GMG Radio's relationship with its national sales house, Chrysalis Radio Sales.

"Our stations are becoming huge commercial successes and Julian's considerable experience of both the media and agency fields will ensure that the group continues to maximise revenue opportunities as we grow," Shaun Bowron, GMG Radio's group operations director, said.

Carter takes up his position following the departure of group sales director Jon Hewson earlier this year.
