GMTV has announced a series of promotions and appointments within

its sales operation following the departure of three business

managers.

Tanya Knight, Michelle Watkins and Mark Warden - all business managers

within the GMTV sales teams - are leaving the company at the end of the

month.

Watkins is set to join the sales department at Cartoon Network, while

both Warden and Knight are quitting the industry. They will be replaced

by Kirsty Walker and Tim Roberts, who are both promoted to business

managers after spending a year as GMTV business executives.

Two junior sales staff have also been recruited to join GMTV. Recent

graduate Daniel Howell and IT recruitment consultant Brooke Saunders

join as business executives this week. They will report directly to

business controller Simon Poole.

Vienmie Tang, ex-personal assistant to sales and marketing controller

Mike Gull, has been promoted to business executive. Tang will report

directly to Patsy White, who is also a business controller.

Poole and White each head a team consisting of two sales executives,

four business managers and one business controller. They report to Gull

and sales director Clive Crouch.

Poole said: ’Although the new appointments are the result of a string of

people leaving, at the same time we are happy to build our teams to

prepare for new business. Now that television is moving into a

multi-channel environment, we want to hire a wider choice of people from

different backgrounds.’

GMTV is a consortium consisting of Disney, Granada Group, Scottish TV,

Carlton Communications and Guardian Media Group.
