Granada Media Commercial Enterprises has signed a first-time

sponsorship deal with Allied-Domecq brand Cockburn’s Special Reserve

Port.

The spirit and wine giant will sponsor the entire series of ITV2’s

comedy drama Cold Feet. The series will run for 13 episodes, the pilot

of which kicks off on the Entertainment Channel this week.

The deal will consist of traditional credits using the strapline: ’Good

times, good friends, great port.’

The deal was negotiated by Paul Masterson, ITV2 sales director at

Granada Media, and Granada Media’s commercial manager Sally Blackburn,

with Blair Krempel, managing director of sponsorship company

Sponsorvision.

Masterson said: ’The Cold Feet deal illustrates how ITV2 has reached the

stage where it is able to attract sponsorship from major TV brands like

Cockburn’s.’

Krempel commented: ’The objective is to continue changing the perception

of port. The brand aims to attract 25- to 44-year-olds and make them

feel comfortable about drinking port.’

Granada Media’s sales arm, Granada Mediasales, sells TV airtime and

programme sponsorship on behalf of ITV2, Granada, LWT, Yorkshire, Tyne

Tees, Border Television and Irish terrestrial channel TV3. ITV2 is

available free on ONdigital and all Cable carriers except NTL.
