Granada Media Sales has tied up another television advertorial deal

to produce a series of programmes running on terrestrial channels for

Subaru.

The series of three-minute advertorial films will air on Channel 4 as

well as the GSB channels - Men and Motors, Plus and Breeze - at the

beginning of March.

The deal was negotiated by Craig Nayman, sales director at Granada Media

Sales Satellite & Cable (GMSS&C) and media agency, Feather

Brooksbank.

The films were produced in-house at GMSS&C to keep down production

costs.

Subaru is the second car manufacturer in the past two months to buy into

the advertorial concept since the new format was first put into practice

with Peugeot (Media Business, 13 December).

Peugeot broadcast five-minute advertorials across cable and satellite

channels only. Before Peugeot, Unilever signed up for a series of

two-minute advertorials for Domestos and Jiff.

Nayman said advertorials are ideal for pulling in clients that are new

to advertising on television as well as offering an innovative way of

presenting brands.

As part of his remit, Damon Letzer, business development manager at

Granada Media Sales, will hunt out major brand advertisers that are

interested in using the advertorial format.
