Grey replaces Y&R on Danone’s roster for dairy products

Grey has joined the Danone roster in the UK, replacing Young and

Rubicam as the agency responsible for handling all dairy products for

the French food giant.

Grey will become custodian of the Petite Danone, Sprinklins and Danone

Bio brands, and will handle the launch of a new dairy product for the

group later this year.

Europe’s third largest food group has been under pressure from own-label

products, especially in the UK, and although it has spent little on

advertising over the past year, is now set to increase its budget to

more than pounds 1 million.

Grey already handles around dollars 110 million worth of business in

other parts of the world for Danone and was asked late last year to

complete a project for dairy products.

Neil Jenner, the new-business director at Grey, confirmed the win. He

added that Grey’s recent win of the mobile satellite telephone group,

Globalstar, would also mean extra work in the UK.
