Guardian to launch dedicated football site

- The Guardian is launching a website for football fans containing match reports, comment and analysis as well as live scores.

Called Football Unlimited the site is a branded extension of the successful football.guardian Website and is the first in a series of sites to launch under the Guardian Unlimited network, due to roll out this autumn.

'Football Unlimited' will go online in September and will allows users to interact with the site by writing reviews of matches. Player and club profiles will also be online and users can subscribe to a service called The Fiver, a daily e-mail roundup of the latest football news and rumours mailed to subscribers desks at 5pm.

An integral part of the site will be the Football Unlimited Network, a coalition of independent supporter's websites, designed to develop internet communities of football fans.
