Hachette Filipacchi hires Simon Bell as marketing director

Hachette Filipacchi has boosted its UK management team with the appointment of a marketing director and business development director.

Simon Bell joins Hachette, the publisher of Elle and Red, in September as the director of marketing from the digital music channel Music Choice, where he was the director of music and marketing.

Bell has held senior marketing positions at Unilever, FT.com and the BBC, where he was the head of strategic marketing for BBC1.

Kevin Hand, the chairman of Hachette Filipacchi UK, said: "We are delighted to have secured the services of such an outstanding marketer whose wide range of skills and experience will add a new dimension to our team."

Bell said: "I'm thrilled to be joining a major new publishing company at such an exciting time in its development. I am looking forward to working across some of the UK's best-known magazines."
