- handbag.com, the women's portal, has relaunched its Shopping Channel in a move to attract new partnership deals and increase commercial activity on the site.

There are currently over 50 e-commerce partners on the site ranging from Liberty to Interflora. Handbag.com is hoping this figure will quadruple by the end of this year as the purchasing power of women online rapidly increases.

Marie Leahy, business development manager at handbag.com, says "The targeted editorial on the site directs users to our retail partners and encourages spontaneous purchasing - this clearly presents a very attractive opportunity to prospective partners."

handbag.com launched in October 1999 and is a 50/50 joint venture between high street retail, Boots, and Hollinger Telegraph New Media.
