Harris moves to Emap Elan as Elle publishing director

Emap has drafted in its managing director of consumer lifestyle

websites to become the next publishing director of its fashion flagship,

Julie Harris, who was recently responsible for integrating women's

lifestyle websites back into Elan as part of the winding down of Emap

Digital, takes the position of deputy managing director and publishing

director, reporting to Dawn Bebe, the managing director of Elan.

As the publishing director she also takes responsibility for Elle's

sister title, Elle Deco, and the health magazine Top Sante. She will

continue to advise on the management of women's lifestyle websites and

will take over the commercial management of RedDirect.

Before her stint at Emap Digital, Harris was the director of brand

management at Emap Advertising. She began her career at Emap as the head

of Elan's advertising before the formation of Emap Advertising.

"I am looking forward to working across this outstanding portfolio of

brands with the team at Elan and contributing to building on its

success," Harris said.

Harris takes over the publishing reins of Elle from Delyth Smith, who is

currently absent from the company on maternity leave.

"Emap Digital's loss is our gain and we are absolutely delighted to have

Julie back at Elan, where her talent, vision and experience will bring

great strength and success to the team," Bebe said.
