Harry Nash revamp sees Elson leave to launch new venture

The managing director of Harry Nash, Julia Reed, has restructured the company's production management.

The restructure does not include a role for the executive producer, Kate Elson, who is instead setting up her own production company with the director Andy Morahan and the producer Amy Appleton Smith. Morahan and Appleton Smith quit The Paul Weiland Film Company after just two months, where they had set up an autonomous company with financial backing from Weiland.

Reed said: "Kate needed to stretch her legs and if a director is prepared to support you in a launch like this, then you should do it."

Weiland was unaware of the launch until contacted by Campaign. He said: "We no longer have a business relationship with Andy, who in turn no longer has an association with the Paul Weiland Film Company - which I am very happy about."

Helen Williams, Fredrik Bond's producer, becomes the head of production/executive producer at Harry Nash.
