Julia Carling is switching her allegiances with a name change that will kick ex-husband Will Carling into touch. As part of a pounds 5m programme to support its Rugby World Cup sponsorship, Heineken has persuaded her to change her name to Julia Heineken. Members of the public can also apply to Heineken for sponsorship funds as part of a programme called ’Sponsoring You’. Consumers calling a freephone hotline will also enter a prize draw to win up to pounds 25,000 in sponsorship money. The Whitbread brand is also joining forces with The Sun to give away beer, money and prizes.
