The recent hiring spree at HHCL & Partners culminated this week
with the appointment of Grant Litchfield, TBWA GGT Simons Palmer’s
former board planning director on Nike.
Litchfield, who will work on British Airways’ new low-cost airline, Go,
as well as Transco, joins as part of a recruitment drive designed to
help the agency bed down a series of new-business wins over the past six
His arrival coincides with the appointment of two creatives from WCRS -
Ian Williamson and Jonathan Burley - who are best known for their work
for the Mecca Bingo chain and Caffrey’s. The pair also worked on WCRS’s
recent successful pitch for Forte.
In a parallel expansion in the account management area, HHCL has beefed
up its team by hiring Bartle Bogle Hegarty’s Dominic Stinton, who has
just returned from helping establish BBH’s new office in Singapore.
He joins two other recent arrivals - Aoibhinn Finlay, from Rainey Kelly
Campbell Roalfe, who will work on the Tango account, and Francesco
Lagutaine, from Saatchi & Saatchi, who will handle Guinness Ireland.
Robin Azis, the managing director of HHCL, explained that six major
new-business wins so far this year, coupled with an increase in business
from existing clients, were behind the agency’s new appointment drive.
He said HHCL had taken on 18 people since January.
Litchfield, for example, joins a planning department which has already
been augmented by the hiring of Sid McGrath from Euro RSCG to work on
the Martini account, as well as Ilana Thomas from Lowe Howard-Spink, who
joined last month to work on Prudential Direct Banking.
