Hotline: Government cannot rely on market forces alone

Stephen Carter, the chief executive of Ofcom, has warned that the Government cannot rely on market forces alone to deliver switchover from analogue to digital TV broadcasting. In a speech yesterday at the Westminster Media Forum, Carter called for greater cross-party political support and the creation of a new autonomous body with responsibility for achieving switchover.
