HOTLINE: Holding companies share prices struggling to recover

The share prices of advertising's leading holding companies are struggling to recover following last Wednesday's allegations in The Wall Street Journal of flawed accounting at Omnicom (see page 5). After dropping to as low as $52.94 last Thursday, Omnicom's shares struggled back to $57.90 at the close on Tuesday. However, WPP saw its share price drop back to 602 pence during Wednesday's trading, after rallying earlier in the week. IPG closed Tuesday on $27, while Cordiant finished the day on $6.75.
