Hotline: Internet adspend grows

Internet adspend grew 17.1 per cent during 2008, boosting the medium's share of total adspend to 19.2 per cent.

UK online adspend totalled £3.35 billion in 2008, according to figures from the Internet Advertising Bureau, an increase of £540 million year on year. Online display advertising grew 7.7 per cent to £637.4 million, paid-for search grew 22.7 per cent to £1.99 billion, while classified online advertising spend rose 22.2 per cent to £715.2 million.
