A couple of years ago I saw a site for a Dutch bank that had a
downloadable (is that a word?) penalty shoot-out game. I liked it
because that’s not the kind of place I’d expect to see a game like that.
The problem with the Budweiser-sponsored Sky site is that it, too, has a
downloadable (that word again) penalty shoot-out game - right where
you’d expect it. In fact, there’s nothing here that’s going to surprise
you. There’s a fixture list, information about the grounds, blah, blah,
blah. Maybe when you’ve got two clients it’s harder to do great work.
Who knows? With so many football-related sites out there, you’ve got to
ask, ’What can you do that no-one else is doing?’, and should you be
giving out information like, ’The World Cup final is to be played
between the winners of semi-finals?’ Well I never.
