IPC promotes Evans to finance director as Aley retires

LONDON - IPC Media has appointed Sylvia Evans, currently deputy finance director at the publisher, as its finance director to replace Bill Aley, who is retiring.

Evans will join the board of the publisher on January 4.

Stephen May, IPC's group financial controller, will replace Evans as deputy finance director.

Evans joined IPC from Reed Elsevier in 1990 and has been deputy finance director since 1999.

Sylvia Auton, IPC's chief executive, said: "Her professionalism, knowledge and commitment made Sylvia the obvious choice for this key role and I'm looking forward to working with her."
