Italian artist Cattelan to star as second artist for Absolut Vodka

Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan is to follow cult British artist, Damien Hirst, and create his own interpretation of the Absolut Vodka bottle for an Absolut ad.

Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan is to follow cult British artist, Damien Hirst, and create his own interpretation of the Absolut Vodka bottle for an Absolut ad.

Hirst was the first of a proposed 17 artists approached by the vodka brand for its 'Originals Collection' series to run in a special series in Time magazine.

TBWA GGT Simons Palmer invited painters, sculptors, film-makers, photographers, video artists and architects to give their personal interpretations of the Absolut Vodka bottle to feature in Time Magazine advertorials alongside interviews with each artist.

Hirst, famous for his cow and shark corpses suspended in formaldehyde, launched the series with an execution called Absolut Hirst. Cattelan's creation, Absolut Cattelan, features a mouse sitting inside the Absolut bottle, clutching a vodka-shot glass.
