- iXL, the US new media agency recently set up in London, has announced its first senior management hiring in former Capital Radio sales director David Lees, who has been appointed as sales and marketing director.

Lees, who left Capital Radio in 1993, has more recently been involved as sales and marketing director of Talk Radio and then in the establishment of Radio First, the investment and operations radio holding company, where he was operations director.

According to Lees: "There is little doubt that interactive commerce is the way that business will be done in the future. iXL brings a global perspective to customers in operating in an increasingly competitive and rapidly expanding market place. The largest organisations and brands want to deal with similarly sized companies which have experience of such brands and their requirements."
